So...It's Been A While

It has indeed been a while since I have expressed some of my thoughts on life and the events that happen in it. In fact, it's almost been a year. With new and exciting adventures ahead, I figure I should document them, even if for my own delight later on in life!

I left off with an internship offer from Home Decorator's Collection. I spent the summer in Atlanta: hot days, a beach cruiser that I rode to work and named "Uncle Sam," floating down the Chattahoochee River.... It was beautiful. Additionally, the South can make some mean fried chicken. I'm pretty sure we all (three other gals from BYU) put on at least five pounds over the summer. This little treat shows all of the delicious and festive treats we made for Independence Day. This one's for America! It features (left to right) Sara, Nicki, and Maren.

Last semester was primarily filled with trips to New York City to see my amazing boyfriend, Andy Cheng. I also interviewed for about six companies for full-time offers...because this lady graduates in June! I have never been so thrilled about an event (except maybe the day I left my hometown). Needless to say, in a few months I went from indifference to love of New York City and got four job offers. Macy's (merchandising), Goldman Sachs (operations), Marriott International (manager), and Amazon (insert unknown position here). I chose...Amazon! I am officially moving to the land of no sunshine, and I must say I am quite anxious about it. I was hoping for more of a California or Hawaii environment.

Eiffel Tower on New Year's Eve; to be fair, we don't have any pictures together in New York.

Since I chose the granola sunless land, I am doing all I can now to brace myself for the blow and maybe even fit in! I have hated fish all my life and I am almost anti-granola. BUT I have forsaken my previous ways, and I am embracing the granola and fish-eating ways!

To start my adventure, I mostly shop at Sprouts (the ultimate granola store) and ground my own peanut butter. Yes. It went from peanuts to peanut butter before my very eyes. I also purchased salmon--and baked it--and ate it. It was just short of a miracle. Salmon is currently my favorite fish. (I've only tried salmon and halibut, but halibut just tastes like chicken so I don't find it eligible in the running for my favorite fish.)

Adding to my crazy new ways, I bought two Dungeness crabs today. And King crab legs. Andy made fun of me and told me I shouldn't buy the whole thing, but I am confident I can jumble together a recipe from Pinterest and avoid a total disaster.
