Double Bonus

Atlanta....Where I might be for the summer!
This week was unbelievable. I have been stressing for the past few months about what to do for the summer. I knew I wanted an internship, but I just hadn't found anything yet. Thursday was the first answer to my prayers. Pat, the area president for Kraft, interviewed me and offered me an internship during the interview! I went straight from the interview to presenting the "Launch the Lollipop" to some members of the National Advisory Board for marketing...where our team was ripped to shreds. It was quite humbling after such an exciting event. After picking up the shattered pieces of pride, My (my teammate on both the "Launch the Lollipop" and Home Depot case competitions) and I went straight back to practicing for our Home Depot presentation that night. Eventually the time arrived, and Team Awesome (our team) killed it! The board members (who were judging the first round of the case competition for Home Depot) were very impressed with our presentation, and we moved on in the competition--meaning we presented the next morning at 9:00 am for Home Depot executives! Needless to say, our morning started early. We got to campus at 7:00 am and made final touches. 9:00 came way too soon! They seemed to love our presentation. But they still had three more presentations to watch, so we didn't want to jump to conclusions. But here's the kicker! Our advisor came up to me afterward and told me to get my resume because the Home Depot/Home Decorators Collection representatives wanted to interview me for an internship this summer! I agreed, of course! The awards ceremony was next.....our whole team was ready to pee their pants. I almost didn't go because I couldn't stand the possibility of completely failing. I went anyway. A miracle happened, and we won! Team Awesome won! There was even money involved....which was neat. I was more excited about the internship offer! The HDC representative, Terri, was extremely accommodating. Two internship offers in two days. Wow. I feel so blessed right now! Anyway, I'm looking into the logistics of both and will be deciding to either go to Oregon/the West or Atlanta! Both will bring great opportunities, I'm sure. The Lollipop case is still coming up this Friday. I'll keep you posted on how it goes!
